Description
A large and detailed map of Lyon and the neighbouring regions along the rivers Saône and Rhône, with the rivers colored light blue. On a scale of 1:6,000, it shows all streets and many buildings, and in some parts also the contour of the land. Darmet produced another map of Lyon in 1838.
The Paris and Lyon publishers are reported below the bottom border, as is the name of Abel Malo in Paris, who was responsible for the lettering.
On the backing cloth, the printed decorative label of "Ch. Piquet, Géographe ordinaire du Roi et de S.A.R. Monsieur le Duc d'Orléans" of Paris, and below it the stamped monogram "LLO" of Louis Charles Philippe Raphaël d'Orléans, Duke of Nemours, the son of Louis Philippe.
