Goose board game type, on the thematic of Jules Vernes World tour in 80 days.

VERY RARE, PRINT BEFORE colorING OR PROOF. Goose board game representing scenes from Jules Verne’s 1872 novel, with thumbnail illustrations numbered from 1 to 80 arranged counter clockwise and encircling a map of the world (which also appears on the floor of our set). The game board includes some anachronisms such as an illustration of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbour (dedicated in 1886) and cable cars in San Francisco (which first debuted a year after Verne’s novel).
The great popularity of Verne’s book, and of a theatrical adaptation that he co-authored around 1880, inspired the production of an unusually large number of spin-off products in France, including several games.
The game is a course game that faithfully records the incidents of Phileas Fogg's trip. Recall that he, having read that after the opening of a new section of rail in India it was possible to go around the world in 80 days, bet half of his fortune that he would succeed this journey . He leaves accompanied by his faithful servant Passepartout.

Eric André Weissenberg, born in Agen, France on March 11, 1941 and died in Geneva on October 30, 2012, is a Swiss vernien collector.
He is one of the most prolific authors of articles for the Bulletin of the Jules Verne Society (BSJV). From collections of editions of cartoons, mainly from Hetzel, which he accumulated throughout his life, he became a recognized specialist in the particular characteristics of the Hetzel volumes and for many years held the section of the collector of the BSJV. He also participates in the collection of Philippe Jauzac Jules Verne - Hetzel and cartonnages illustrated, published by the editions of the Amateur and is the author of Jules Verne: A fabulous universe (Favre, 2004) where he exhibits of many unpublished documents from its collections.

In addition, Eric Weissenberg was also a collector of documents related to the Holocaust.
