Description
Maps of the world, celestial chart, mostly of European countries, but includes Russia, Asia, India and China, Africa, North and Central and South America, the United States, Oceania with inset of Australia, etc.
The previous owner added several small maps in the African section. Individual pages and maps have the usual slight brown spotting but the atlas is in overall excellent condition.
Prepared by J. Migeon (fl. c. 1855 - 1899) who was a late 19th century map publisher based in Paris. His most prominent publication was his "Geographie Universal" in 1854, which was updated through 1874.
Revised by Alexandre Vuillemin in 1878. Alexandre Vuillemin (1812-1880) who was a cartographer and an book editor based in Paris, and studied under the prominent French Auguste Henri Dufour (1798-1865).
