Description
Nismes is a section of the municipality Viroinval located in the Walloon Region in the province of Namur in Belgium. It houses the administrative headquarters of the municipality.
The map was dedicated to Valentine Spirit Fléchier (1632-1710) , a French churchman and preacher, and the Bishop of Nîmes (1689–1710). He is considered as one of the great orators of the 17th century.
Jean Baptiste Nolin was the engraver to the King in Paris. He entered into an agreement with Coronelli, wherein Coronelli would prepare maps for engraving and publication by Nolin in Paris.
After his death, the business was continued by the Nolin Family.
