Description
To the lower left and right of the time dial are the 12 Arms of all Nations these consist of Holland, Spain Turkey, Russia, America, Austria, Denmark, France, Belgium, Prussia, Brazil, Britain. The Flags of all Nations. - a set of 26 different flags, of which some are: China, Brazil, Greece, Turkey, Persia, Egypt, Holland, Belgium, Italy. . . There are 2 small boxes of text relating to The Human Race.
Beneath the flags are 11 delightful vignette portrait illustrations of various ethnic races - Negro, Malay, New Zealander, Turk, Anglo-Saxon, Ashantee. . .Below these portraits sits a wonderful twin hemisphere map of the world. The upper corners are filled with descriptive text, while below there are Comparative View of the [Worlds] Mountains and Rivers then twin blocks of text regarding Great Discoveries, Inventions &c., and in the middle an illustrative depiction of Comparative View of the Principal Waterfalls.
In the body of the world map, many ships sail the world's oceans, countries are highlighted in different colors, equatorial zones are shown, as is a directional compass rose. A solar system projection is seen between the twin hemispheres in the lower half. The upper half has a ribbon title and world facts.
Beneath the world map are 21 pen-portraits of Female Costumes of the World. These include: Persian, Dutch, Irish, Swiss, Greek, Polish, Armenian, Chinese. . . Along the base of the map sit a pair of tables listing Populations of Principal Cities with lists of countries, their size, population, religion, mode of government - all in alphabetical order. Between these informative tables lies A Map of the World showing the Religions of Mankind.
Flanking all of the above are Coins of all Nations - 21 different vignette style illustrations of world coinage, including: India, Mexico, USA, GB, Holland, Argentina, France. . .
