Description
Uncommon and decorative map of Ukraine, showing the theatre of the Russo-Turkish War in the Ukraine in 1735-1739. The map gives detailed information of the fortifications including the Ukrainian line - a system of defenses from the Dnipro to the Donets rivers.
In upper left and lower right fine title and scale cartouches and a compass rose in the Black Sea.
Russia attempted to gain access to the Black Sea. After several successful campaigns in the Crimea, the withdrawal of the Austrians from the war forced Russia to the negotiating table. In the Treaty of Nis Russia gave up its claims to Crimea and Moldavia in return for being allowed to build a port at Azov, although with no fortifications or navy there.

- Starting at 4.00 PM EST (Amsterdam 22.00) the following day up to the closing you may purchase an item at the Buy price.
- Once the Buy price is paid the sale for this item has closed.
- We show the "Bid & Ask spread" (to define the gap between the minimum accepted bid and Buy price.)
- Items that have received bids within the BidAsk spread are sold at the highest bid at closing.
