Description
Theatre poster for "Around the World in Eighty Days by A. Dennery and Jules Verne, for Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris. Printed by : Imprimerie Ch. Wall et Cie, 14 rue Lafayette, Paris. Poster of one of the main scenes of Jules Verne's first novel to be adapted into a play. Very rare only known by the copy formerly in collection Éric Weissenberg and one example sold in 2017 by Boisgirard.
Provenance : Eric André Weissenberg collection, born in Agen, France on March 11, 1941 and died in Geneva on October 30, 2012, was a Swiss Jules Verne collector.
He was one of the most prolific authors of articles for the Bulletin of the Jules Verne Society (BSJV). From his collection of editions from Hetzel, which he accumulated throughout his life, he became a recognized specialist in the particular characteristics of the Hetzel volumes and for many years held the section of the administrator of the BSJV. He also participated in the collection of "Philippe Jauzac Jules Verne - Hetzel et les cartonnages illustrés, publié par les éditions de l'Amateur", illustrated and published by the editions of the author and he published "Jules Verne: A fabulous universe (Favre," (2004) where he exhibits many unpublished documents from his collection.
In addition, Eric Weissenberg was also a collector of documents related to the Holocaust.

- Starting at 4.00 PM EST (Amsterdam 22.00) the following day up to the closing you may purchase an item at the Buy price.
- Once the Buy price is paid the sale for this item has closed.
- We show the "Bid & Ask spread" (to define the gap between the minimum accepted bid and Buy price.)
- Items that have received bids within the BidAsk spread are sold at the highest bid at closing.
- For bids entered within the BidAsk spread, we use the proxy-bidding process, so you are getting the item at the lowest possible price.
