A nicely presented Russian route planner from Moscow in the Soviet Union to (Talin) Estonia, (Riga) Latvia, (Vilnius) Lithuania and (Minsk) Belarus. Inside front cover has a simple map of the area covered by the route planner.
Route I begins at Moscow and travels to Smolensk, interspersed with Russian text and assorted military monument vignettes.
Route II begins at Smolensk and travels to Minsk with more text and vignettes depicting Soviet war heroes, a castle and a central train station.
Route III begins north of Minsk and goes to Riga (via Vinius) on the Baltic coast. With vignettes of a cathedral, a monument to a writer and a view of a town in Lithuania.
Route IV is the more northern coastal route from Riga to Vilnius with vignettes of Riga, and a ruined castle.
Route V is the pretty route from Riga to Talin, with a vignette of the mermaid monument in the capitol.
Route VI is the way from Talin to St. Petersburg , with vignettes a bridge on the river Neva, a cathedral in Talin and a view of the Bourse.
Route VII is from Novgorod to Kalinin, with vignettes of a pair of monument s.
Finally, Route VIII Kallin to Moscow, with vignettes of the Kremlin, a monument in Kalinin, and a museum to Tchaikovsky.
Each route is full of detail, including roads, houses, fields, petrol stations, places to camp, many smaller villages etc. A unique Soviet era item.
